Centro Cultural Barco de Papel in Queens is an active participant of life and culture in New York City. Our work has garnered recognition through the dedication, variety of programming, becoming leaders of intercultural and urban dialogue for over ten years. We have created a space for writers and artists who represent our community. Likewise, this space is available to all persons wishing to disseminate and share their work.
From the day Barco de Papel opened in 2003, it has opened its doors to a large number of writers and artists of different nationalities, whether New Yorkers or visitors from Spain, Latin America or the Caribbean. Additionally, we organize cultural and artistic activities for children and youth that has been acknowledged as vital to the academic success and social cohesion of our young audiences.
The goal of the fundraiser is to continue our recognized work. Economic forces have thrown a wrench in our operating budget and we will face many challenges without your support. Help us continue our work in 2016!
