El Barco de Papel Cultural Center introduced the second version of the spring cultural event, called Rhizome, on Saturday May 31 aa 5 pm on the premises of the Cervantes Institute of New York.
In the event, that started in the gardens of Cervantes and ended in the conference room, participated writers, poets, artists and musicians of the Metropolitan Area. There was also exhibitions and sale of books by local authors. The independent publishing firm, Book Press NY featured poets Pedro Miguel Falquez Certain Arturo Estrada and showcased their new books published in the winter-spring 2014. The visual arts exhibition highlighted paintings of the renowned Colombian artist Jorge Posada and photographs of Diana Bejarano.
The event brings together promising and consecrated voices of Spanish poetry and literature of New York is an informal meeting which aims to promote poetry readings in different spaces that houses the history and development of our culture in the city of New York. Local authors had the opportunity to present their work, signing books and answering questions from the audience about their work and creative process.
