With cookies, candy and tons of creativity, Barco de Papel, the culturally active and imaginative Elmhurst bookstore and it’s children program, La Hora del Cuento en Queens held the traditional festival of Passover (Easter) with an educational and cultural program for children aged 3-13. The program consisted in a pastry workshop designed especially for children. Kids decorated their own easter themed cookies and had the opportunity to learn about the celebration of these festivals focusing on religious diversity like the Jewish passover.
Besides baking, the event offered playgrounds and music by the composer and guitarist Juan Pablo Montoya. The event was well attended and was a success by the large number of participating children and the enthusiasm it aroused in the community.
